"A Love Supreme"
Allentown JazzFest Sunday 10:30 a.m. ~ May 7 with
Expansions: The Dave Liebman Group
Join us for this unique presentation of John Coltrane's musical masterpiece, "A Love Supreme" in a worship setting at Zion's church this Sunday.
"A Love Supreme" is celebrated by musicians for its depth of spirituality. It is an expression of Coltrane's gratitude for deliverance from addition as well as the dedication of his talent to God.
In the original liner notes he wrote a poem to accompany the final movement of the suite, called Psalm. An excerpt:

And if Jazz is Not Your Thing...
If you'd prefer a more traditional service, our friends and neighbors at St. John's U.C.C., 36 S. Sixth Street welcome you to attend their 11:00 a.m. service. We've also invited any of their members who would like to experience this jazz service to worship with us. Use your Zion's Church offering envelope and they'll see that it gets into our offering for that day (and vice versa, of course!).

Church Parking:
Enter the Gross McGinley (Crown Tower) lot via 7th St.
DO NOT attempt to enter the lot through the alley!
Look for the blue Liberty Bell Church Parking sign at the entrance to the lot on the north side of their building (pictured here).
Thank you to Dave Dettra for his service as our volunteer parking lot attendant!
|
NOTE: Depending on the time you arrive, the sign may be at the lot on the south side of the building!
Remember, too, that street parking is available both on Hamilton and Seventh Streets.
If you need assistance with parking, please call the church office (610-435-2412).
