Dear Friends,
April 21, 2017
After 43 years of service to the Kolbe Cathedral High School community, I will retire on June 30th. It has been my great pleasure to teach, coach, serve as Athletic Director, Development Director, Principal and President over the years. I have gotten to know thousands of wonderful young people, witnessing their growth and development and celebrating their successes! The school has earned a strong reputation as an educational force in the City of Bridgeport and beyond by increasing rigor in the classroom; sending 100% of our grads to college. We added challenging offerings like Engineering, Biomedical Science, Entrepreneurship, CSP Mobile Apps, AP US History and English. This Fall, we will offer a Social Studies course that carries UCONN credit! We are pursuing partnerships, in addition to Shepherds, with both St. Vincent's College and HCC for other dual credit opportunities for our students. The school has grown by acquiring Wissel Hall and will continue to pursue a goal of 400 students! The academic world is enriched by our students' journeys in faith. I have witnessed baptisms and confirmations and embraced students' transformation as they accept the Lord, God in their lives. I have been greatly blessed in this mission of Catholic Education at Kolbe Cathedral. Henry Rondon will resume the position of Principal and I ask that you extend your tremendous support to him as you have to me these many years.
I am looking forward to some fun in the sun at my Florida home, but will become a member of the Kolbe Cathedral Advisory Board to continue to serve the school I love as we work to secure the future! While this will be my final graduation, I will continue to "Work hard and be nice"!
I hope you will join us on May 21st at our Making a Difference Celebration and give me the opportunity to THANK YOU for helping KCHS Make A Difference in the World!
God Bless You and Yours!
