Local teams among tops in state 

Congrats to the four squads from the L.A. County Academic Decathlon who placed in the top ten in the state competition: South Pasadena HS (5th place, in photo), Edgewood HS (6th place), Mark Keppel HS (8th place) and West HS (10th place). 
County schools take home the gold

Seventy-four L.A. County middle and high schools have been named California Gold Ribbon Schools and are among 275 statewide to receive this top honor.

Parents join to overcome adversity

More than 100 parents of at-risk students gathered at LACOE on April 1 for a morning of workshops and motivational talks. It was the first such countywide event for families of students in Juvenile Court Schools and Alternative Education programs.
Glendale student wins spelling bee

"Coincidental" was the winning word for 6th-grader June Musurlian of Woodrow Wilson Middle School at the 2017 L.A. County Spelling Bee. Students from San Marino USD and San Gabriel USD took second and third place, respectively.
