As of April 18, 2017, the new expanded data elements for registration and reporting are required by the ClinicalTrials.gov Protocol Registration and Results System (PRS). The rule applies to trials with a start date or a primary completion date on or after Jan. 18, 2017. PRS modifications to enable the submission of protocols and statistical analysis plans (SAPs) may take effect as early as June 2017.
