This Sunday
It's finally here.  Lent is behind us, as are the events of Holy Week.  It is resurrection that now stands before us.  It is Easter Sunday, a day of hope, renewal, even resurrection, and a time to lift our spirits.  The Praise Band at first service will be doing some wonderfully creative things.  As I tell a piece of the Easter story, the band will have the congregation responding with songs; upbeat, fun, familiar songs that will engage the stories of Easter like no others, and maybe bring back  a few memories to boot.  It will be a service not to be missed.  Then in second service the chancel choir will be offering selected pieces all related to the Easter themes and like first service music, the choral pieces will be spread out throughout the service.  Again, something not to be missed.  It will be a magnificent time of retelling the Easter stories.  So come, bring friends and family, spend the morning.  And just a reminder that there will be the annual decorating of the Flower Cross at both services, so remember to bring some flowers, even enough to share.  For the children there will be an Easter Egg Hunt between services and all are invited to watch or participate. What a great morning it will be celebrating the risen Christ.

Mission Sunday
Sunday, April 23 @ 9:00am

Aldersgate will have its first Mission Sunday on April 23.  We will gather for one worship service at 9:00am and will then venture out to do various mission projects.

  • There are several mission projects that will be done here at the church and others offsite at other places.
  • The mission projects are listed on the table in the narthex where you can learn more about them and signup for them.
  • Lunch will be provided but you must sign up by April 19 so that we buy enough food.
Mission Sunday Revisited & Potluck
Sunday, April 30 @ 10:00am
On April 30   we will again have only one service but at 10:00am to review and celebrate our Mission Sunday accomplishments followed by a potluck lunch.  For the potluck, p lease plan to bring a dish that will serve your family plus 3 to 5 more servings to share.  We need main dishes, sides, salads and desserts.  If you bring a hot dish, consider making it a crock pot dish that can be kept warm during service.  The timing of this meal puts it in the "brunch hour" so feel free to bring items that either are breakfast related or items that are more traditional.  In other words anything goes!  If you can help set up tables or help receive food that morning around 9:30am, please contact Colleen Olleman (425-746-1696 or colleman@comcast.net).  Plan to come and fellowship together as we give thanks for the gifts of service from the Aldersgate Community.
Pastor's Wednesday Class
Wednesday, April 26
Pastor Brad will start a new class about Philip Yancy's book "The Jesus I Never Knew" on Wednesday, April 26 . The class meets weekly on Wednesdays from 10-11:30am and also from 7-8:30pm; same class, different times.

Thank You from Mabel
I want to express my thanks and appreciation for flowers, cards, and calls that I have received during my recent hospital and recovery stays.  Each caring thought and prayer is very much appreciated.  Hip repair recovery seems to be a slow and ongoing process.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness and caring.  Sincerely, Mabel Fry and Family
