Immunotherapy for malignant pleural mesothelioma.

PHLBI Lead Researcher Raymond Wong 

PHLBI has developed a promising cancer immunotherapy treatment platform based on genetically engineered adult human mesenchymal stem cells.Cell-based immunotherapies, such as chimeric antigen receptor T cells, are rapidly moving through clinical trials and have a high cure rate for certain blood cancers. PHLBI's research staff, led by Lab Officer Raymond Wong, Ph.D., is now conducting extensive experiments to optimize these next-generation cancer treatment products. Read More 

   

This Valentine's Day people gave more than just their heart, they gave their blood for research! Donors joined us at our office on Santa Monica Blvd and celebrated this day of love with us, eating chocolates, and helping us collect data for current and future projects investigating treatments for diseases of the heart, lung, and blood for our International Tissue Bank for Research . Global Images USA in Conjunction with PMC Celebrated its Grand Opening Party At the W Hollywood Hotel 
on April 5th


Over 300 people joined us  on Wednesday, April 5th to celebrate the grand opening of Global Images USA's newest gallery, aptly named the Hollywood Gallery, inside the W Hollywood Hotel. Attendees helped us mark the gallery's unveiling of their newest collections, paired with a live art installation/demonstration by Ann McFerran, a silent auction, live music, and great company.

Sale proceeds from the specially priced collections and food and beverage purchases benefited The Pacific Mesothelioma Center. Click here to look at photos from this event.

This February PMC celebrated the one year anniversary of its monthly caregivers support group meeting.  The support group led by PMC Nurse Practitioner Lien Hua-Feng and Sonia Jarvis-Bayek was created to give caregivers of mesothelioma patients an  outlet to ask questions, share stories, and release difficult emotions If you would like to join the support group or simply sit in on a meeting please  click here .
