Most successful EFE in 12 years! PRAISE GOD!

T HANK YOU to everyone who attended the Educating for Eternity Banquet a little over a week go. It was a delightful evening.

We especially want to thank everyone who worked so hard for this event! Pre-event sponsorships and net revenue from the silent auction and donations were the highest levels ever, with net revenue exceeding last year's amount by nearly $18,000. Net revenue this year is currently at $68,250 with some pledges and a few expenses still rolling in!  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

As a Thank You to ALL of our sponsors, please be sure to mention the HCS Banquet when you visit one of our sponsors or silent auction donors and thank them for their support! You r encouragement and personal recognition to them will have an impact!

A Message from Head of School Mike Annis
At about this time each year, enrollment for the upcoming school year is driving decision making. It is a relief when variables are confirmed and good plans can be made. We commit to serve our current families first and want to serve them to the best of our ability. As classroom space allows, we want to see God bring new families to the school who seek the partnership we offer. We also want to be wise stewards of the resources God has asked us to manage (money, time, and the facility) as we pursue our mission. With these goals in mind, I have confirmed that Heritage will only operate one section of each grade level, Kindergarten through 8th grade next year. Ms. Bartholomew will continue as the sole Kindergarten teacher, though she will likely have a teacher aide in the classroom. Miss Sarah Franje will continue as the sole 1st grade teacher. There will be one section of 2nd grade though its size (24 students) demands more dedicated support. Current plans are to hire a part-time classroom teacher for 2nd grade plus a teacher aide. This provides more intimate class sizes of 12 when students are taught Math and English/Language Arts and provides additional support in other core classes. All other classes, 3rd-8th, will be single sections with class sizes ranging from 16-19 students each.
Pray for us as we continue to plan for an awesome year next year.
A Message from the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors wants to thank you for your prayers, thoughts, and feedback over the last six months during which time the board reviewed Heritage's Mission and Vision statements. During this review process, th e board worked closely with a consultant who facilitated our discussions to ensure that our Mission and Vision statements more clearly describe what we, as an organization, will be doing to advance Heritage Christian School.

As a board, we want to thank those who took the time to provide critical insights during this lengthy and important process. The board collected feedback from teachers, employees, association members, and non-association members to ensure the clarity of the message that these guiding statements are intended to convey.

Revisions were made based on the feedback that we received. The Board of Directors is confident that the revised Mission and Vision statements will provide clear direction for the school going forward.

The wording of the new Mission and Vision statements is:

Heritage Christian School exists to serve Christ by partnering with parents to provide biblically faithful, academically excellent education.

The Vision of Heritage Christian School is to be a leader in developing passionate lifelong learners committed to Christ."

The next task for the board will be to ensure that the school's strategic plan aligns with, and enables us to fulfill, our Mission and Vision statements. Please continue to pray for the Board of Directors as we seek God's will and work to maintain a direction that honors what He has asked us to do.
Track Athletes: RUN over Spring Break!
Track season is just around the corner. We encourage all runners to start running this week. Practices begin on Tuesday, March 21. Once again, Head Coach Sarah Franje, Assistant Coach Jim Turnbough, and Assistant Coach Jewel O'Rear will lead our track team.
