Help Defeat Single Payer in California at the Upcoming CAHU Capitol Summit

The CAHU Capital Summit is May 8-10 in Sacramento and will feature presentations by top CAHU officials, visits to our legislators, and speakers such as Mary Watanabe, Deputy Director of Health Policy and Stakeholder Relations at the Department of Managed Health Care. All GGAHU members are encouraged to attend. Much of the conference will focus on CAHU's effort to defeat the Single Payer legislation SB 562 in California.

ave Fear Jr., CAHU's VP of Legislation gave GGAHU members an update of legislative activities on the national and State front. Fear highlighted the imminent threat of the Single Payer bill SB562 that was introduced by the California Senate in Feb. Opposing this bill will require massive lobbying efforts on the part of CAHU members, as well as large amounts of funds in the CAHU PAC and the Special Issues PAC.
All members are urged to contribute generously to CAHU-PAC in support of these efforts.

GGAHU Board Welcomes Three New Members

The GGAHU Board of Directors recently welcomed three new members to fill vacancies: John Fisher of Paylocity, Secretary; Jonathan Greer of Rockridge Health Insurance, Communications & Media Chair; and Maria Leimbach of Word & Brown; Hospitality Chair. The Board is holding its annual strategic planning meeting in April and a new Board will be elected to serve starting in July. The Board always welcomes interest from chapter members willing to serve our membership and increase their visibility in the industry by joining the Board.
