Celebrate National Library Week April 9-15, 2017

'Libraries Transform' will return as the theme for National Library Week 2017, reminding all Americans that today's libraries are not just about what they have for people, but what they do for and with people. Increasingly, libraries are places of creativity where people can meet to share a hobby, use a 3D printer, edit a video, or use software to record their own music. Libraries offer access to the tools, technology and training essential to the economic and cultural lives of their communities.

To celebrate this year, get on down to Winona Public Library and check out all of the events being offered.  Below are just a few:
 
-  April 11, 10:30 AM: Special Storytime: Libraries! Interactive stories that relate to our favorite thing: libraries! Then, get a special behind the scenes tour of the library and become an official junior librarian!
-  April 12, 4-5:30 PM: Read with Rover-Duffy! Sign up at the Youth Services desk for a 15-minute slot to read one-on-one to Duffy, the therapy dog! April 13, 2:30-4 PM: Early Release Day: Lego Free Play!
-  April 13, 6 PM: Bilingual Storytime (English/Spanish) with Madison SLIP!
-  April 14, 10:30 AM: Musical performance by Amanda Grace!
-  April 14, 5-6 PM: Teen Fandom Trivia Night Join us for Jeopardy-style trivia about all your favorite fandoms: Star Wars, Harry Potter, comics, and more! No registration required. For grades 6 through 12.

When Easter rolls around, grocery store displays explode with chocolate eggs, jellybeans, and marshmallow bunnies.

Although these sugary treats seem to be staples of the spring holiday, there are plenty of healthy alternatives that can be just as festive.
