What is all that Yellow?

If roses are red and violets are blue, then what is all that yellow blooming in the fields? Many of you may be asking yourself this question as you travel around Currituck County this time of year. Well you can stop wondering. That beautiful carpet of yellow is a crop known as Rapeseed, though many of you may be familiar with this crop under its other name of Canola.

Development of effective communication skills and techniques provides youth with a positive sense of self and higher levels of self confidence which will empower them to achieve and succeed in any situation they encounter.

Currituck County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are hosting the 2017 Currituck Home, Flower, and Garden Show for one day only on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9 am to 4 pm. This free, indoor, public event will be held at the Currituck County Center of NC Cooperative Extension Service located at 120 Community Way in Barco, NC. Since the 2017 show is being held on Earth Day, the theme for the show is "Every Day is Earth Day"!

NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is holding a series of home food preservation classes from 1:00-3:00pm at the Currituck County Center of NC Cooperative Extension. Participants will have the chance to prepare and can a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables . The first class will be Jams and Jellies on May 9th!
