More ways to support our community on Mitzvah Day: Make a blanket with Knitzvah, Help us garden in the courtyard, Cook a meal for homeless women-or help us serve it the next day at Women's Gathering Place, Visit Chai House for songs and board games with residents, Learn about local nonprofits like PACT and get involved!!

Food for your body.  Food for your soul.  Need a better way to spend your lunch hour?  Join Rabbi Magat for an informal study and discussion session of a selected Torah portion.  Together we will navigate through traditional interpretations and modern applications of our historic teachings.  Bring your lunch and be ready to get a new perspective on Torah. Open to members and non-members and no previous Torah study is required.

Ladies, please join us on Saturday, April 29th, for a relaxed brunch and spiritually uplifting Shabbat experience, as Cantor Edmondson helps us welcome the new month of Iyar. This Rosh Chodesh experience, co-sponsored by the Temple Ritual Committee and Sisterhood, is open to all adult women in the congregation and will take place from 9:00 AM until about noon. Each Rosh Chodesh experience will focus on different ideas and have different activities, and in this one we'll embrace the month that is traditionally a month of healing. We'll get to know each other with a guided meditation, study, and exploration of faith on this lovely Shabbat morning. We'll also have the opportunity to learn about the healing power of crystals by making our own crystal grids. Please come and see what this relaxing and rewarding experience is all about!  And also bring a copy of your challah recipe--whether it's the one your grandmother made and handed down to you, one you created, or one you just found on the internet! This service includes the participation of our 4th Grade Class with leadership from our 2nd Grade Class. We're proud of our students and their participation and leadership in our service. Most Family Services are preceded by a congregational Shabbatluck potluck dinner.  We hope you share in this delightful Shabbat service with us that will also recognize the amazing teaching staff of both our Religious School and Preschool.

Temple Emanu-El member Norma Slavit will discuss her two children's picture books, "September Thanksgiving" and "Peaches, Frog, and the Man in the Moon."  The themes in the books include cooperation, patience, and the importance of doing mitzvot.  Held at Congregation Kol Emeth, 4175 Manuela Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94306.

Join Rabbi Magat and Cantor Edmondson for a Community Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial) Service on Sunday April 23rd. The program will begin at 6:30 pm with presentations by Eric Kay who, a child, was rescued by the Kindertransport. There will be a slide show of art work and poetry by students from Fisher Middle School, the Harker School, St. Andrews, St. Mary's, Yavneh and the Congregational Religious Schools. Finally there will a presentation by HIAS and a viewing of segments of their film "Refugee Children".  A Yom HaShoah memorial service will follow with the lighting of candles by survivors and Second and Third Generation families and the participation of the community's rabbis.  This program will be especially meaningful to adults and children in middle school and high school. The entire community is welcome so please invite your friends and neighbors.  Hosted by Congregation Shir Hadash, 20 Cherry Blossom Lane, Los Gatos.
