Rock Shabbat

Featuring the musical stylings of our Rock Shabbat Band!  An innovative and joyous worship experience with musicians (piano, percussion, guitars, trombone, etc.) and singers joining Cantor Amanda Edmondson and Rabbi Dana Magat. Congregational singing is definitely encouraged, as is dancing in the aisles.  Join us as we welcome the Sabbath in a fun and lively manner.  All members and non-members are invited to a service like you've never been to before.
EESY Casino Night with Brotherhood

If you have extra seats at your first night seder or are looking for a place to spend the first night of Passover, please e-mail admin@templesanjose.org.  Please include your neighborhood, how many seats you have or need, and any dietary restrictions!  First night seder match-ups will be notified on April 5.

Sisterhood Women's Seder Thursday, April 13 at 6:00 PM
Bring your sisters, mothers, daughters, friends and share the delicious food, camaraderie, and uplifting ritual! Come and enjoy the food and festivities.   Bring a Kosher for Passover style salad, side dish or dessert to share for Passover.   EntrĂ©e and ritual foods provided. $8/Sisterhood Member; $12/Non-Sisterhood Member. Send your check, made payable to Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood, to 1010 University Ave., San Jose, CA 95126 by Thursday, April 6.

Help Make Other's Passover Great!
Please help JFS collect and distribute Passover Food to families and seniors in our community by placing food in the JFS bins in our lobby. We appreciate your contributions of Matzah, Horseradish, Matzah Ball Soup, Tea, Gefilte Fish, Grape Juice, Macaroons, Cakes, Cookies, Fruit, Honey, Matzah Meal, and any other Passover foods that you choose to give!  Barrels will be at Temple Emanu-El through April 5.

Put on your dancin' shoes and come to our free Israeil dance class taught by our very own Loui Tucker. No dance experience necessary and we welcome everyone from the community to join in the fun.

Join the Cantor for lunch, and bring your thirst for Jewish music and liturgy!  Bring a sack lunch and join Cantor Amanda on the first Wednesday of each month to share in a stimulating discussion Jewish liturgy and music. This event is open to the community.

On April 7, our family service will led by our 6th grade class and will feature the participation of our 4th grade class.
 
Meet and schmooze with these students, their families, and our congregation during a friendly potluck dinner and stay for a delightful Shabbat service featuring our Junior Choir, The MazelTones!

Temple Emanu-El presents a Shabbat experience geared towards families with children ages 1-30 months.  Little ones will enjoy a service full of Shabbat songs, Torah talk, and parachute play!  Kiddush, motzi, and a bagel oneg sponsored by Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood follows this fun-filled program.  What a great opportunity for parents of young children to meet and form groups- perhaps even life long friendships- with their peers.  Everyone is welcome!

We will particularly address the issues of displacement/relocation and unjust evictions.   We will be joined by Councilmembers Sylvia Arenas, Sergio Jimenez and Tam Nguyen .

We're teaming up with Israel Outdoors to lead a Birthright trip this summer. Students ages 18-26 who attend San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, Foothill College, De Anza, West Valley, or any other campus in the area are welcome to apply to our summer Birthright trip taking place July 2-13!

Friendship Circle Summer Camp

Summer will be here before you know it and  Friendship Circle is  offering a one of a kind two week summer day camp experience specifically for Children and Teens with Special Needs.  Camp will be held at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto from July 31st to August 11th!  An early bird registration discount for our fun-filled summer camp is available until April 1st! 
Register now (space is very limited) for our action packed typical day camp filled with activities, entertainment, field trips and more including our amazing teen volunteers and an onsite therapist.
