Presenting on Nicaragua at Union 6th & 7th Grade Center
|
On April 6th and 7th, JustHope's Associate Director,
Jennifer Payton presented about Nicaragua and JustHope
to seven
6th grade Geography classes!
The students at Union's 6th & 7th Grade Center, who just completed a study of Central America, were very excited to hear about life in Chacraseca, La Flor and Santa Emilia.
Jennifer built on their understanding of what it means for JustHope to be an international development organization, what it's like to live in a developing country, and how issues like climate change and deforestation affect our Nicaraguan friends.
Students asked really great questions, like
"What is it like to go to school in Nicaragua?", "Is it hard to get medicine when you need it?",
and
"Are they planting any trees to replace the ones that were lost?"
