Service Hours Deadlines

Service Hours for the 2016-2017 school year are due soon!  Seniors need to submit all of their hours by Friday, April 21. The 7th through 11th grade hours are due Monday, May 1.  Corporal works of mercy are an important part of Christian life, and our life as a YC community.  Keep an eye out for service opportunities from now until the due dates if you are in need of doing a bit more.
Earth Day Activities
The Stewards of the Earth club will host a variety of student activities to bring awareness to Earth Day during all lunch periods on Friday, April 21. Students can also support the environment by wearing a green shirt (for $1); all money collected goes towards the adoption of an animal.

The Stewards of the Earth Club and AMDG (All For the Glory of God) Club will be organizing a clean-up of the YC campus on Saturday, April 22, from 9-11 AM.  Come out to earn two hours of service to our school by walking the grounds to pick up trash and other refuse on our property.  Bring a good thick pair of gloves and a sturdy pair of boots.  Let's meet at the bus circle and clean up our little bit of earth, here at YC!
Pro Life T-shirt Day

The American Life League's Life Defenders program is sponsoring National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day tomorrow, April 21. On this day, pro-lifers wear their favorite pro-life t-shirts to call attention to the plight of preborn children in this country. The goal of the day is to empower young people to speak up and defend the innocent babies killed through abortion. All pro-lifers are encouraged to wear a pro-life t-shirt everywhere, all day long. This includes school, work, the store, and around the neighborhood.
Encore! Encore!

Students from the York Catholic production of "Guys and Dolls" will be participating in the Encore Awards on Sunday, April 23, at 2:30 PM at Central York High School.  Students from 14 York County high schools will be performing songs from their musicals this season.  Tickets are $15.
Carnation Sale to Honor Seniors

Anyone wishing to send a senior a congratulatory carnation may order it during lunch periods from April 24-28, for the cost of $1 each.  Any parent, grandparent or friend may click here to fill out an order form.  National Honor Society members will distribute the flowers on Friday, May 12.
New Parent Orientation
Parents who will be joining the York Catholic family for the first time next year will be attending New Parent Orientation on Wednesday, April 26, from 7-8 PM to get the inside information about YC.  Current parents are invited to help answer questions and welcome our new families.
Parents of Seniors
As we prepare to celebrate our seniors' successful completion of high school, we remind parents of the following:
  • If you have not done so, please send in a 4x6 or 5x7 photo of your child when he/she was younger than age 5.  Please send in as soon as possible. Please put in an envelope with your child's name on the front.
  • Please write a personal congratulations letter to your graduate and encourage siblings, grandparents, Godparents, teachers, and others to write as well.  In the past, letters reminisced about the graduate's growth of life or hopes for the future.  It can be a note card, a song, a poem, a card, or a 10 page letter - your choice.  Place each card or letter in an envelope and label it with your child's name, and be sure each letter is signed by the author.  We would like each child to have a letter from at least one parent and 2 additional people.
  • We are creating a slide presentation to view during the Senior Breakfast.  We would like group photos of your child with YC friends from grade school through the present.  Please click on the link below that will take you to a Shutterfly Share page (you will need to create an account if you don't have one already) to upload your photos.  Please upload a maximum of 10 photos.  If you need assistance navigating the website, feel free to email Roxanne at [email protected].  If you prefer to send pictures into YC, please be sure to label the pictures with your child's name (and possibly the names of the students in the picture) so we can return them to you.
