Our Condolences

On Sunday, April 16, a long-time friend and supporter of NASW, a social work leader and great teacher passed away. Dr. Emma Quartaro, founder and director of the Social Work program at Seton Hall University, was an inspiration to many students for over 50 years.
She was also an advocate for the profession and for our clients. I personally recall how she advocated not only for her own students but for all students. When I battled with one of my own mentors, Emma was there to lend support. She will be missed by many.
For those who want to pay their respects, viewing will be on April 20 &21. The funeral is on Saturday, April 22. Click here for details. To learn more about Dr. Quartaro, click here.
