Volunteer for Out and Proud Week

Out and Proud Week presents the largest opportunity for community visibility on the UC San Diego campus. It is a week­long group celebration and private reflection on the achievements of LGBT­ identified students, staff, and faculty and our allies. 

It is also a time for public awareness and discussion of current LGBT issues on the state and national levels.

APIMEDA Family Dinner
Monday, April 24th, 2017
5-7pm, LGBT Resource Center

Join the LGBT Resource Center for a queer APIMEDA family dinner! We'll gather 'round the table and eat up while we discuss intersecting APIMEDA and LGBTQ identities. 

Vegan options available, a nd feel free to bring some food to share if you want! If you do bring food, please let us know if it's vegan, halal, nut-free, etc!

Note: This is a closed space for LGBTQ APIMEDA folx.

A small-coffee shop themed event for queer and trans folx to engage and connect with each other. Connections can be platonic, romantic, etc.






Sexual Assault Awareness Month 

April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to raise awareness of sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.
 
Friends Supporting LGBTQIA Survivors 
Tuesday, April 25, 12-1:30pm, LGBT RC
Discussion on ways to provide support for LGBTQIA survivors of sexual violence. 

Art Therapy Workshop 
Friday, April 28, 3:00-5:00pm LGBT RC
Healing and self-care can be found through art. Join artist Ramona Garcia for a traditional Mexican doll-making workshop.

Rainbow Graduation
2-4pm, June 10th, 2017 
UC San Diego Faculty Club 

Please join the UC San Diego LGBT community as we come together to honor the students who are graduating, our volunteers, our scholarship recipients and all who have impacted our community over the last year.

The event serves as the formal induction of the graduates into the family of the UC San Diego LGBT Alumni. Although many people do get dressed up for the event, it tends to be a queer little get together, with all the trappings of our community, so be yourself.

Coming Out Group

The Coming Out group is a place to meet and gain support while discussing your sexual and/or gender identities in a confidential setting. This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, or questioning folks who are coming out, considering coming out or may already be out. Topics are determined by group participants and can include stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, excitement and celebration with regard to coming out.

Gay Men's Relationship Forum

Join us for conversations about our experiences as gay men, and connect with other gay men on campus. This group addresses relationships, sexual health, community building and more.

We're creating a community roster of LGBTQIA+ student leaders on campus to keep the community better updated of resources and opportunities. You have the option for your information to remain internal - for the LGBT Resource Center Professional Staff to be able to contact you regarding opportunities OR for it to be public- to be listed on our website for peers and community to know who our student leaders are.

Lunafest

Lunafest is a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for, about women... and open to everyone. This season, the program of nine films - filled with stories of reflection, hope and humor - will travel to over 175 cities and screen in front of 25,000 people.

Free food and refreshments will be provided for UC San Diego students (please bring your UC San Diego Student ID)
