2017: A Great Year, Despite

It's been a tough year for the nation but it's galvanized us artists. In the last year, I've produced several projects in Colorado, NYC, and DC and all aim to build bridges across cultural and political boundaries to highlight our INTERCONNECTEDNESS.

2017 kicked off with a residency and performances at Colorado College and Denver Art Museum. In NYC, Harlem Stage commissioned me to create an excerpt of JustLikeThat , my multidisciplinary exploration of news language and state power, also supported by Foundation For Contemporary Arts.

For Fall 2018, Center for Performance Research has awarded JLT a technical residency to develop stage design for an evening-length version. O.O.F. (studies in the opposite of fear) is a solo I've been developing about cultivating centeredness in the face of pervasive anxiety and xenophobia. La MaMa Theatre will present in May 2018.

Dance In The Round , my movement experience for people of all ages and abilities, is on a roll! Dance Teacher magazine published a feature, and I'm being invited by organizations and schools to teach: DC-based immigrant-rights group Many Languages, One Voice, has been one partner. PDDC also produced a DITR benefit for groups doing flood recovery work in Bangladesh and Houston.

This month, I began teaching contemporary dance at the Mark Morris Dance Center.
