Gardant Shines Spotlight on Shining Stars
Shining Stars from the nearly 50 senior living, assisted living and memory care communities that Gardant manages received special recognition at the company's annual Holiday Awards ceremony.
The Shining Star awards program is designed to shine a spotlight on individuals who consistently go above and beyond expectations to make a difference and improve the lives of older adults through their work ethic, dedication, commitment to quality, creative initiative, and ability to lead by example.
Yvonne Peterson, Director of Marketing at Heritage Woods of Rockford, was honored with the First Place 2017 Shining Star award. Caitlyn Wise, certified nursing assistant at Heritage Woods of Ottawa, received the Second Place award, and Teresa Stanley, nurse at Prairie Living at Chautauqua in Carbondale, was recognized with the Third Place award.
Honored for Making a Difference
Heritage Woods of Centralia was presented with Gardant's 2017 "Making a Difference" award. The award is presented to the Gardant managed community that achieves the highest combined score for overall resident satisfaction and would you refer the community to family and friends on the annual Resident Satisfaction Survey.

10th Anniversary Celebration
Grand Prairie of Macomb, an affordable assisted living community managed by Gardant, celebrated its 10th Anniversary on Nov. 30. Among those on hand for the celebration were Illinois State Rep. Norine Hammond and Macomb Mayor Michael Inman.
Located in McDonough County, Grand Prairie operates through the Illinois Supportive Living program, which enables it to serve residents of virtually all financial means.

John Evans Supportive Living in Pekin received the First Place award. The Deer Path of Huntley affordable assisted living community for adults 22 to 64 with physical disabilities took home the Second Place honor. The Heritage Woods of Charleston affordable assisted living community was honored with the Third Place award.
Aging and Disability Issues Forum
Rick Banas of Gardant spoke about the Illinois Supportive Living program at the Kane County Legislative Roundtable on Aging and Disability Issues. The forum was sponsored by the Elgin Senior Provider Network, Kane County Senior Resources and the Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging.
