Dear Friends and Colleagues!

Each quarter, our staff at the LI TRAID program identifies articles, videos and current resources that we find interesting and useful. We share these materials with the hope that they are also of interest and helpful to all of you. Please enjoy as you catch up on some current Assistive Technology (AT) news. As technology continues to become more advanced, we find more and more applications for its use. New Screen Time  Recommendations
for Children Under Six

Screens Are Everywhere.   Everywhere you look, there's a screen with bright pictures and interesting noises-phones and computers, tablets and TVs. You may wonder if all this technology is good for babies and toddlers. Is it educational, distracting, or some combination of the two?

Free Online Assistive Technology Tools to Help With Reading, Writing and Math
Assistive technology  (AT) can help your child with learning and attention issues. However, AT like computer software and apps can cost money. The good news is there are many free online tools your child can try.

Assistive Technology for ADHD Challenges at School
Children with ADHD may struggle in school due to poor handwriting, math challenges, and/or inattention. Assistive technology tools and software aim to level the playing field by capitalizing on kids' strengths, while working around their challenges.
