North Star Happening

Well this nice warm weather coming in can only mean one thing... Day Camp and Summer Camp are just around the corner!  We are offering a wonderful experience for the scouts this year! 
 
The Day Camps are going to have a Bug Hunter theme where you get to learn about the things that crawl and buzz. 
 
Summer Camp has a new challenge for the boys that will challenge both their skills in design and their ability to work as a team.  The hint of what it might be is; Something from Rome.   Remember to book your Troops and Packs early to take advantage of that early bird deal.

  • Hidden Lake Resort- Fairmount

  • Cary Camp- Lafayette

  • Geneva Center- Rochester
    • o   June 6-9
    • o   $65 early bird, $75 after May 12th
  • Geneva Center - Rochester (one day Autism Day Camp)
    • June 5th
    • $25, registration deadline, May 26th 

Parent & Pal Overnight Camp at Camp Buffalo June 24 & 25
Each Cub Scout will be accompanied by a parent or guardian and will camp in a tent and enjoy BB gun shooting, archery, swimming, and Scout skills. See flyer for more details.
$20 per person up to June 21, 2017 and $30 per person after June 21st.


2017 Cary Adventure Camp for Cub Scouts June 28 - July 1st


Advancements will include:  Castaway, Into the Wild, Into the Woods, Aquanaut & More!
Cubmaster or other Camp Leader may register your pack via CampMaster website.

Youth fee is $125 until June 1st and $150 after June 1st.*
Adults fee is $65 until June 1st and $100 after June 1st.*
*A non-refundable but transferable deposit of $50 is due April 8th and a payment of $25 is due May 6th. Final payment for early bird fee is due by June 1st.

Webelos Weekend Camp July 21-23, 2017 at Camp Buffalo
$50 per person Early Bird Fee and $75 per person after June 15th.
Activities will include pellet gun shooting, archery, swimming, canoeing, fishing, and Scout skills.

DIY Pinewood Derby:

As the date for the District Pinewood Derby Race gets closer and closer, Scouts try to find ways to make your cars go even faster.
  
Some Tips and Tricks that can help take that last little bit of time off:
Tip 1: Make sure you apply more of that "fiction-less powder."
Tip 2: Run the track.  Tracks are all different and it is good to find out where you need to set the car to really make it shine.
Tip 3: Have fun, this is a big day for you Cubbies to race the car that you put time and effort into, it's a once a year occasion.

District Fall Camporee - Leonardo Da Vinci 

September 8, 9 & 10th
Cass County 4H Fairgrounds

Troop 200 from Logansport will be hosting this year's event.  All Scouts will earn the Model Building and Design merit badge by creating a 1/8 scale balsa wood catapult and futuristic spaceship that will be launched from a bungee cord launcher.  In their patrols, they will complete three challenges:  Catapult, Leaonardo Da Vinci Arch Bridge and an Odometer Wheel.
