Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment is over in all states that participate in the healthcare.gov website, and will be over everywhere by the end of January. Thereafter, individuals/families can only purchase a plan if they have a "qualifying life event" (examples are moving between different service areas, loss of Medicaid, divorce, marriage, gaining immigration status, etc.) Many individuals who did not sign up for an ACA plan during open enrollment will not have a qualifying life event and, hence, will not be able to enroll in a plan until the next open enrollment period that runs from November 1, 2018 to December 15, 2018 for a 1/1/19 start date.
However, enrollment in
Health Excellence Plus is year-round and is not subject to open enrollment limitations. Individuals and families can enroll at any time: applications received by the 20th of a month are eligible for enrollment as of the first of the following month. If you didn't sign up for an Affordable Care Act plan during open enrollment (or want to change to a different plan than the one you enrolled in) and are interested in changing to a more reasonably priced plan that uses medical cost sharing, you should consider
Health Excellence Plus.
