Avita of Newburyport

Avita of Newburyport is the area's only dedicated memory care assisted living community.  The name, Avita, which translates to "For Life," was inspired by our desire to create a safe and fulfilling environment where nurturing caregivers recognize each resident as a special and unique individual. Just because an individual may suffer from memory impairment does not mean they have lost their spirit. Our goal is simple - to make a positive difference in people's lives by creating a special place where residents can thrive and families can have peace of mind. That place is Avita.

How Much Do You
Spend on Professional Development?

There are likely professional development pieces you must keep up with for your business. Items like certifications, licenses, and other must haves. But what about the secondary training you need to learn to keep your business relevant in today's changing marketplace? Are you keeping up? Can you afford to? What do you need to know? Here are the top skills most businesses need today and an inexpensive suggestion on how to keep with these secondary professional development requirements.

Regardless of the business that you're in, there are new skills that we all must be learning. Even if your business is large enough and your budget robust enough that you can afford to pay others to do it, having a cursory knowledge of these new skills is important.

Have You Ever Wondered What The Term "Creative Economy" Actually Means?

Is it a real thing? And what does the creative economy contribute to the overall health and quality of our shared lives? Hint, creative economy does not just mean visual arts.

In fact, a quick online search reveals the following definition: "A creative economy is based on people's use of their creative imagination to increase an idea's value. ... Some observers take the view that creativity is the defining characteristic of developed 21st century economies, just as manufacturing typified 19th and early 20th centuries."

To better understand actors and activity in the region's creative economy the perfect opportunity has presented itself: The Creative Economy Association of the North Shore (CEANS) is coming to Newburyport for its upcoming meeting! Mark your calendar for Wednesday, May 31, 5:30-8:00p.m. - the meeting will be held...
