Happy April Everyone!

Finally, spring has arrived, we've had a couple of spring showers, and best of all, pollen is present and making many of us miserable with our allergies.  For those of you with no allergies, count your blessings!

Our Members-at-Large are very busy putting the finishing touches on the Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting.  It sounds like it will be a memorable day with great food and a very interesting speaker.  Make a reservation early members so you can enjoy the day for $30.00 instead of $60.00, which it will go to after April 21st.  There will also be door prizes, which are always fun.

The Board of Directors has been researching your recommendations for our charity donations this year and have voted on our choice.  We are very excited about donating $3000 to "Little Brothers ~ Friends of the Elderly".  It is a great organization and they work with seniors in the community providing them with "friends" to break up the time they spend alone.  Isolation is one of the leading causes of depression and poor care in our elderly populations, and can lead to death.  Little Brothers works hard to provide companionship for these elderly people in Minneapolis.  I will be contacting James Falvey, Executive Director of Little Brothers ~ Friends of the Elderly and letting him know they are the recipients of this year's charity donation, and will invite him to the Spring Luncheon and annual meeting to receive the donation and tell us how they will use it.

Have a great April and don't forget it's tax day this month ~ not that any of us need to be reminded!

Linda Debner
