 2017 Vol. 12 No. 4

Greetings!  In this month of November, here in the USA, we celebrate Thanksgiving- a time when we remember the things we are thankful for. These last few months I am thankful for the people who have helped me learn and direct this beautiful ministry since my start as USA Director in June 2017 and for all who participate in and support UCE.

I am also happy to share a UCE milestone: UCE has surpassed 400,000 chastity commitments; that is, over 400,000 youth have signed chastity commitments through the work of UCE. Join us as we continue to pray for God's continued blessing, grace and providence upon Universal Chastity Education.

In the USA, we hope to see you at our upcoming World AIDS Day Agape meal on
Saturday, Dec 2nd, 2017.  We also ask you to consider UCE when making your year end donations. This ministry is fully supported by you! We thank you, and God bless you!
In Christ,
Sarah Smith
USA Director, Universal Chastity Education

We bring you this lovely news sent to us from Kasese, Uganda
Love's candle lit at UCE-club soccer match
Mr. Cosmas and his newly wedded wife enjoyed the fruit of patience and abstinence on May 26, 2017
Mr Cosmas is a young man who signed an abstinence card in 2013 and the now wife had signed in 2014. They had not known each other before.  On their wedding day they narrated their story: There was a UCE-club friendly soccer match at Munkunyu primary school playground, and a female youth had gone to spend her free time by watching the UCE match. By coincidence,  a young man, Cosmas, had also gone to watch the match. Unknowingly they stood near each other.   At pitch, the UCE team was commentating alongside the match urging the youth to abstain.  The two youths, unknown to each other, (Consmas and the future wife) were
standing nearby and they started conversing how each one decided to sign  abstinence card  and it had helped each one of the two from issues of fornication, HIV/AIDS, STIs & early pregnancy.  From the conversation the two started growing feelings for each other, and kept lighting the candle until the two called the UCE team and Fr. Peter to witness their marriage on May 26, 2017. During their party they narrated how the UCE message had kept them pure until their wedding when they were united as wife and husband and they promised to remain faithful to each other until death parts them.  They added that it had been each other's prayer to get a preserved and faithful husband and wife.

UCE co-founder lectures at 86th Annual CMA Meeting

Dr Kim Dernovsek delivered her signature lecture "Teens and Sex: Reach them Now or Treat them Later" at the 86th Annual Catholic Medical Association meeting held in Denver, CO on Sept 8th, 2017.  Medical professionals across the country were inspired with the message of chastity she delivered. It was this lecture that brought her to Uganda, Africa originally and inspired the founding of Universal Chastity Education in 2004.

Youth Awareness Week
UCE participated in the Pueblo, Colorado 2nd Annual Pueblo Youth Awareness week by hosting a chastity outreach at the Pueblo West library on Sept 29th 2017.  The enthusiastic small group were enriched by the presentation saying "very informative; loved how our faith was the center of the talks,"  and "keep up the good work. Don't waste this good time and preparation."
