Winston-Salem's Interfaith Tour

Winston-Salem's Interfaith Tour will observe its 10th anniversary on April 30, 2017 with visits to Annoor Islamic Center, the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) meeting house and Temple Emanuel (Jewish house of worship). The tour begins at 2 p.m. at the Annoor Islamic Center, 1435 Lake Cottage Road in Clemmons; moves to the Mormon Meeting House at 3 p.m., 4780 Westchester Dr. in Winston-Salem; and ends at Temple Emanuel at 4:30 p.m., 201 Oakwood Dr. in Winston-Salem with a free pizza party concluding around 5:30 p.m. Admission is FREE, but tickets are available HERE. interfaithtour

El Buen Camino 5K

You are invited to join the 5th Annual El Buen Camino 5K. This family fitness event is committed to building community through running, walking and being with one another.  This unique race definitely has a Latin flare, takes you through the beautiful campus of Wake Forest University and is a perfect event for the whole family! Race packets can be picked up at El Buen Pastor Latino Community Services (4637 Tim Rd, Winston Salem, NC 27106) either on Thursday, June 8 from 5-8 pm or Friday, June 9 from 9 am-12 pm. Or packets may be picked up on Friday, June 9 beginning at 5 pm until the start of the race. Online registration is available HERE through Monday, June 5 at 6 pm. After that, you may register in person for either the 5K or 1-Mile Walk at either of the Packet Pickup times - Thursday, June 9 (5-8 pm), Friday, June 10 (9 am-12 pm & 5-6:30 pm). Registrations made after June 5 must be made with either cash or check and cost $30 for 5K, $20 for Walk, $5 for Child Walk. camino5k

GA Amendment Voting

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS ARE APPROVED:  The 2016 proposed amendments to the Book of Order have been approved by the requisite number of presbyteries. These amendments, including a revised Directory for Worship, will become a part of our Constitution on June 25, 2017. Salem's record of votes on proposed constitutional amendments has been submitted to the Office of the General Assembly. Click HERE to track the voting of all presbyteries.    gavoting

POAMN (Presbyterian Older Adult Ministry Network) Regional Conference set for October 19th at Highland, WS will include a workshop for retired clergy called Retired Clergy: Asset or Liability.   • Young Adult Volunteers (YAV) applications - Application date for international placement is February 1st. Candidates can apply to both national and international sites. Applying before February 1st does not guarantee an international placement, however, applications must be completed by that date to be considered. Fill out Material Request Form and materials can be mailed to requested address. Materials are available in English, Korean and Spanish.       We are looking for individuals willing to serve as their Presbytery liaison. These volunteers would assist in building a local network of ecumenical partners, sharing ecumenical resources or information, and keeping CEIR and national staff informed of local efforts/resources.
