Saint Agnes Summer Series for K-12 Students, Alumni & Adults
The
Saint Agnes Summer Series  includes opportunities for K-12 students, parents, alumni, and past parents. Take a look at the offerings in athletics, arts, and academics in the online catalog. Here's a preview of the topics  for alumni, parents, and past parents:

  • 10 Ways to Destroy Your Child's ImaginationJune 20, 22, 27, 29, 6:00-8:00 PM
Read and discuss with parents and faculty Anthony Esolen's incisive book about how elements of modern education cause damage to the minds of our youth. This insightful and at times controversial work is great fodder for conversation among parents of children at any age. A brilliant professor, cultural commentator, and devout Catholic, Anthony Esolen has a lot to offer those concerned about education and their children.
Teacher: Mr. Jordan Adams, Elementary Latin and 8-12 History
Cost: $50 (includes cost of book - $70 couple)
(Aggie discount: $15 for current parents, alumni, and parents of alumni)
  • The Death of Socrates: July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 7:00-8:00 PM
Dr. Pentecost will lead conversations on readings from Plato's philosophical dialogues Apology, Euthyphro, & Crito about the trial and death of Socrates, true "lover of wisdom" in ancient Athens and iconic philosopher of the Western tradition. Those fearful that the work of the great philosopher may be difficult should take heart. These Platonic dialogues are not difficult to read, even though they raise fundamental questions. Conversations will dig deeply into the text, discussing the great questions of man's condition, life's meaning, and sacrifice for the truth.
Teacher: Dr. Scott F. Pentecost, 9-12 English, Latin, and Greek
Cost: $60 (Aggie discount: $15 for current parents, alumni, and parents of alumni)
  • Women, Wine, & Portraiture! July 14, 7:00-9:30 PM
Ladies, enjoy a Friday evening of creativity and camaraderie with one of the finest studio art instructors in the state - all while enjoying a glass (or two) of wine!
Teacher: Mrs. Jennifer Soriano, 7-12 Studio Art teacher
Cost: $35 + bottle of wine (hors d'oeuvres included)
  • Catholicism Clashes with Contemporary "-isms": July 25, 27, Aug 1, 3, 7:00-8:00 PM
Contemporary U.S. and academic culture have posited a multitude of philosophical and anti-intellectual theories that are unfriendly (at best) to faith and reason and in need of significant evangelization. Take some time to discuss hedonism, relativism, multi-culturalism, Marxism, and other "isms" with the headmaster of Saint Agnes School as well as discussing how best to meet and combat them. We will use John Zmirak's Disorientation as the text for the course.
Teacher: Dr. Kevin Ferdinandt, Headmaster of Saint Agnes School
Cost: $60 (includes cost of John Zmirak's book, Disorientation)
(Aggie discount: $15 for current parents, alumni, and parents of alumni)

Grade School Library Seeking Gently Used Easy Reading Books
The Grade School Library is in need of "gently used" or "like new" easy readers to spruce up our collection. If you have any Dr. Suess, Magic Tree House, Junie B. Jones, Encyclopedia Brown or other favorites we would happily accept donations. Simply bring them to the main office marked for the Grade School Library. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Driver's Education Offered at Saint Agnes: June 5-16
Saint Agnes will partner with Safeway Driving School to offer Driver's Education on campus to students ages 14.5 to 18 this June. The cost is $375, due upon registration. To learn more or to register, please visit the school website. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Laurie Weyandt.
TADS & Educate: Family Data to Sync
In 2014, the company whose software we use to manage our enrollment, financial aid, and tuition management processes (TADS) purchased our student information system (Cornerstone, now Educate by TADS). This combination now allows families and the school to manage family data in a single database. From now on, any changes to your family's contact information (address, email, phone, etc.) will have to be made through your TADS account, which will then flow from TADS to sync with Educate. (Previously, these updates were made in Educate). If you have questions related to this change, please contact the Main Office.
Attention Aggie Alumni: Class Photos Needed!
We are in the process of a new alumni project which includes class photos from every graduating class since 1942. Unfortunately, we do not have a photo on hand for every class. If you or any alumni you know have a formal class photo in your possession (like the image shown here), and wouldn't mind letting us borrow it briefly, please contact Mrs. Andrea Mahoney at (651) 925-8709 as soon as possible. Original photos will be returned to their owners.
