It's Week 14 here at Fresh Fork Market, and the first real signs of Spring are in your bag!
That's right-- this week, besides the meat, frozen berries and veggies, beans and mushrooms we also have a head of lettuce, a pound of asparagus and some ramps!
Ramps are a foraged spring allium (like onions and garlic) that grow in abundance in Ohio & West Virginia, and even further south into Appalachia.
A few years back, Trevor went down to a Ramp Festival (read more here) and got to taste tons of different ramp recipe and realized what the hype is all about. They have a really mild, sweet flavor and you can eat them raw, chop them up in salads, grill them a touch, or add them to pasta or egg dishes.
And the arrival of spring means that the Winter Share is almost over and the

What's in the bag? With this bag it's pretty obvious that we're starting the transition between colder and warmer weather. Some Winter staples are there, like frozen fruits & vegetables (strawberries, blackberries, & corn), dried beans and fresh mushrooms. But you'll also get a head of lettuce, a pound of the season's first asparagus and a quarter pound of ramps. The vegetarians will get a cheese choice (options listed at your stop) and a quart of frozen tomatoes instead of the Green Onion Brats coming in the omnivore bags.

Ohio Ramps grow wild in Ohio and West Virginia and are one of the first greens to pop up out of the soil each spring. Rinse well and make into pesto, aioli, soups or add to pasta! |

We have a new STRONGSVILLE stop!
We are so excited to announce our new Strongsville stop-- the Pathway Church on Prospect and Drake. It's just under two miles straight south from our previous stop (21211 Drake Road) and we'll be in the large parking lot of the church. See you there this Thursday!

We sent out a payment reminder yesterday, so if you still owe anything on your account (from purchases made at the back of the truck or for your subscription payment), you should have your total.
Your account needs to be paid off in full in order to sign up for the
Summer Share 2017
-- so please sign in to settle up or bring in payment to your stop this week!
Place a Special Order this week and Week 15.
Also, FYI--
this is the last week you'll be able to make any purchases "on account" at the stops. During the last week of the share, you'll only be able to buy extras at the truck using credits you already have, cash or check.
