This week at St Columba's ... After the waiting and expectancy of Advent
and the long nights and shortest days as the solstice passed, we move from darkness to light. We revel in this brief season of Christmas as we celebrate God's incarnation in our humanity in the story of the birth of Jesus, and our worship is rich and full of music and beauty and cheer. As the year turns, may we look on our own lives and that of our community with new hope, new resolve. In 2018 may we deepen our faith and strengthen our bonds of friendship, learning and service here at St. C's and in our wider worlds.
Sunday Eucharist, 8, 9:15 & 11:15 am
Please note: This Sunday, Dec. 31, St. Columba's will follow an abbreviated Sunday worship schedule. The 9:15 am service is intended for young children and their families. There will be no Great Hall services and no Sunday Forum, Sunday School or Youth programming.

REFUGEE MINISTRY
How is our Refugee Family Doing?
Shared by Lois Herrmann
It has been eight months since Jim Losey, Jean Ann Wright and Leroy Walters drove excitedly to Dulles Airport to pick up the Khwaja Family -- Dad Fridoon,
Mom Shakeba, and sons Omer, Usman and Siddiq. Partnered with St. C's by Lutheran Social Services, the Afghan family was looking to start a new life in America after a perilous time in their home country. They came with an unflinching desire to work hard so the three boys
could eventually prosper in this country.
