Milwaukee Teen Pregnancy Prevention Network Meeting
On Thursday April 27 Neu-Life Community is hosting their annual Milwaukee Teen Pregnancy Prevention Network Meeting. The event will be held at the Neu-Life Community Development at 2014 W. North Avenue. Go through the side door entrance.
The event will feature Maria Barker, the multi-cultural programs manager at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. She will be discussing topics from Planned Parenthood's annual Safe Healthy Strong Conference and Planned Parenthood resources in general. She will discuss resources for family planning and other health services.

May is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month
Every May, the nation turns its attention to teen pregnancy prevention for a full month. National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month (NTPPM) highlights the historic declines in the rates of teen births in the United States. Significant declines have occurred in all 50 states and among all racial/ethnic groups, yet disparities continue.

Marcus CineLatino Milwaukee Film Festival 2017 Sponsorship Opportunities
During the last weekend of April (27-30) 2017, Marcus Theatres will host the inaugural Marcus CineLatino Milwaukee, a four-day film festival showcasing a celebration of Hispanic culture with feature-length movies. Films will feature Hispanic topics of interest, Latino actors/directors, and more. The festival will be held at the newly renovated Marcus South Shore Cinema in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
You will reach an audience of 10,000 people by sponsoring the event with a broad community base. Attendees include organizations, business leaders, professionals, students, and the general Milwaukee community.

Ethics in Prevention: A Guide for Substance Abuse Prevention Practitioners
The Ethics in Prevention online course goes from May 22 to June 2, 2017. The event is open to the public. Registration for the event is available

This moderated online course addresses the role and application of ethics in substance abuse prevention. Using cases and interactive activities, participants will explore the six standards in the Prevention Code of Ethics and learn to use a 4-step decision-making process to assess, address, and evaluate a range of ethical issues.
In addition, five discussion forums, facilitated by an experienced course moderator, provide opportunities for participants to apply lessons learned.

Calling all adolescent health stakeholders
The annual collaborative meetings are part of the Adolescent Health System Building Initiative and will take place in Madison on October 10th. Join a statewide network of health departments, schools and non-profits to work together to ensure all young people grow up healthy and ready for adulthood. Partners and stakeholders from diverse sectors, such as law enforcement, business leaders, and academia, are strongly encouraged to join in April.

Join 9to5 Wisconsin to answer workforce with the upcoming "Know your Rights Training" featuring Attorney Antonique Williams and a panel discussion from professionals of color in the area.
Answer questions regarding:
-Kinds of EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Center) violations
-How to wear locs and other natural styles in the workplace

Stand Against Racism is a signature campaign of YWCA USA. The focus for 2017 is "Women of Color Leading Change." They have invited a panel of women, in various stages of their lives.

Community Case Manager at AIDS Resource of Wisconsin
The Community Case Manager provides a wide range of intensive, client-centered services to persons with HIV/AIDS in a variety of settings to expedite access to medical care with the goal of HIV viral suppression, to address medical, psychosocial, and other issues that are barriers to care, and to collaborate with other programs within ARCW and with local service providers for the benefit of clients and patients. This position will be based at our Milwaukee location.

Fill-In Crisis Advocate at FRIENDS
A fill-in crisis advocate will provide crisis intervention and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Position is on call when full time staff go on vacation or are sick; hours are not guaranteed.
The position is in West Bend, Wisc., and is a part-time position at Friends.
