June Morris joins Board of Directors

The Coral Gables Community Foundation is proud to announce the addition of June Morris to the Board of Directors!
 
June is president of Profile Communications Group, LLC, a video production/marketing company based in Coral Gables. She is an Emmy award-winning broadcaster with credits at all of the major networks: NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX. June currently serves as  Chairman of the Coral Gables Economic Development Board. She is also a board member of the Allen Morris Foundation. 

June grew up in Coral Gables. She is married to Allen Morris, who owns The Allen Morris Company, a commercial and multi-family real estate firm. The couple has six children between them.  Her parents are Dorothy Thomson (former Coral Gables Mayor and Commissioner) and John Thomson, an attorney that has practiced law in Coral Gables for more than 50-years. Welcome, June!
Focus on Funds

RiseUp Ventures Fund established

The Coral Gables Community Foundation has recently partnered up with RiseUp Ventures to serve as its Fiscal Sponsor. RiseUp Ventures works to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of incarcerated and at-risk individuals and  provides a unique blend of entrepreneurial, mindfulness and emotional intelligence training, mentorship and innovative technology to help previously incarcerated individuals not only survive upon release, but thrive. 5th Annual Pause for a Cause a Great Success!

 
The 5th Annual Pause for a Cause took place Thursday, March 16th and was a great success! Founded by Cristina Mas of CIM Consulting, Pause for a Ca use is an annual event where local professionals unite to "party for a purpose" and raise money for import ant causes in our community. Over 30 non-profit organizations participated and raised over $8,500! The Coral Gables Community Foundation is proud to serve as the Fiscal Sponsor for Pause for a Cause.
Recent Happenings

Ponce Society of Young Professionals honored by Coral Gables High School Football Team

On March 1st, Coach Roger Pollard and the Coral Gables High School Football team honored the Ponce Society of Young Professionals with a plaque in recognition of their support of the football team and its players. The Ponce Society was recognized for their ongoing efforts with the football team, such as the annual Shirt and Tie drive. 

The Ponce Society of Young Professionals wishes outgoing Coach Pollard much success in his next endeavor!

Mark Trowbridge recognized for 10 years of service on Foundation Board

Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Mark Trowbridge was recognized for his 10 years of dedicated service to the Coral Gables Community Foundation Board at the February 16th Good Morning Coral Gables Chamber Breakfast. Foundation Chair John O'Rourke presented the award on behalf of the Foundation's Board of Directors and thanked Mark for his many years of contributions to the Board. Mark has been a valuable partner to the Foundation in many ways, such as having established the Small Business Enhancement Fund at the Foundation. Thank you, Mark for your service! 

Mark your Memories with a Commemorative Bench!

In partnership with  the City of Coral Gables, the Coral Gables Community Foundation offers the Commemorative Bench Program. The p rogram provides a meaningful way for people, non-profit and government organizations, and companies to honor the legacy of a loved one, a special milestone or commemorative event with a bench in one of the City's green spaces or parks. The commemorative benches are 6-feet-long, UV- and moisture-resistant and have an estimated 15-year lifetime.


Double your donation with the Key to Giving program






Consider doubling your donation to one of the participating
 non-profit organizations through our Key to Giving program! 
The Coral Gables Community Foundation's  Key to Giving  program has launched once again in partnership with the Key Biscayne Community Foundation and the Himan Brown Charitable Trust. 

The program allows individuals in our community an opportunity to support the greater community by making a matched charitable gift to 25 pre-selected non-profits that are making a difference in Coral Gables and throughout Greater Miami. 

By donating your time and treasure through the Key to Giving Program, the Coral Gables Community Foundation, Key Biscayne Community Foundation and the Himan Brown Charitable Trust have committed an initial monetary pool as incentive dollars to match donations received between $50 and $500 per donor  to the participating organizations. For any one gift greater than $500, the first $500 will be considered for matching funds.
