Wonder, Love and Praise - Creating a Vision for our Future Together
|
Wonder, Love and Praise Introduction
|
Wonder, Love and Praise
(WLP) is a document produced by the Committee on Faith and Order (CFO) designed to engage United Methodists in a study of our ecclesiology, that is how we as United Methodists understand what it means to be the Church.
Our goal is to send a refined version of this document to the 2020 General Conference to be adopted alongside such official theological statements of the church as
By Water and the Spirit
and
This Holy Mystery
.

FUMC-Fabens Hosts Wellness Clinic
First United Methodist of Fabens, Texas, hosted the Second Annual Wellness Clinic Mission Group. Through the grace of God and "The Doctor's" Mission Group, we were able to serve the uninsured of our community with basic health checkups, complete physicals, diabetic screenings, counseling and referrals, blood pressure checks, and eye exams. Other services or items provided were glasses, and colon-rectal cancer screening kits, that upon collection were ready to be mailed back. Some of the people were also referred to a local doctor for further assessments and follow-ups, and vaccinations. Breast exams were also provided. Zika prevention kits were provided free of charge to mothers of child bearing age. Pictured above right is Dr. Allison, who is a geriatric specialist and Dallas Mission Group Leader. We look forward to hosting them again in 2018.
