We don't want to curse it, but we think it's safe to say spring is finally here to stay! With the warmer weather here, what do you do when you want to get outside and enjoy the weather?

Barb -  As most everyone knows, I love animals and one of the things I love to do when the weather changes is go to the zoo. I love learning about the animals. It is important to me that zoos are focusing on great habitats for the animals in their care and conservation of  species.

Timmy -  I walk in Lake Roland Park which is right behind my home. I served on the original citizen task force that worked with Baltimore County to take over responsibility for the park from Baltimore City. We then worked with the County to improve the park. I also served on the inaugural board of directors of the Lake Roland Nature Council so it is a place near and dear to my heart.

Lisa -  My son is into sports, so we are always on the go. He plays baseball in the spring and soccer year round. After a winter spent at the indoor arenas, it is nice to get back outside and enjoy the games along with some fresh air!

Karen E. -  When the weather turns warm, I love to get outside to hike, walk or play tennis.  I love taking Chester, our Chocolate Lab, to Oregon Ridge for a hike or just a walk around the neighborhood after I get home from work.  I also love meeting friends to walk around St. Paul's campus --  it's a great way to catch up, walk some awesome hills and hopefully catch a lacrosse game if I'm lucky.

Karen B. -  I live near the Hampton National Historic Site in Towson, which is the Ridgely estate dating back to the late 1700's. Now run by the Park Service, it's my favorite spot to walk as one can tour the remaining structures and the Georgian-style manor house itself. The grounds are beautiful, with gardens and specimen trees!
We have two Chocolate Labs, so walks in our neighborhood are a daily outdoor activity as well! Recently, I had all our bikes tuned up so our family wants to cycle on the NCR trails soon.

Sarah - I love to hike the trails at Oregon Ridge Park! The trails are peaceful and beautiful and some trails even wind down through streams and waterfalls. I have a Golden Retriever who loves to get outside and walk on the NCR trail or around our neighborhood.

Heather - I like to find a park to bike to where I can hang out for a while and read a book.

April 2017

From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
I always look forward to this time of year! I prefer the warmer weather and love to look out my window at home to see all the green plants and flowers blooming outside. As much as I like traveling during the spring and summer months, I also enjoy spending time at home outside on our patio and gardening in the yard. My family and I especially love the fresh vegetables from our garden. I hope you take time to enjoy this wonderful time of year too!
Happy Spring!
Barb
