Supporting Social Success For Students With Hearing Loss

Workshop Description:
Interested in learning more about social success for children with hearing loss? For most children and youth, a critical part of the school day revolves around social interactions with peers. However, students who are deaf or hard of hearing have been found to interact less with peers- and show less confidence-than do hearing children of the same age. This workshop will focus on strategies for educators to help promote and support the social skill development of their students with hearing loss. We'll focus on strategies aimed at enhancing social and self-advocacy skills, as well as assertiveness. More information here: http://www.chha-nl.ca/social-success-for-children-hearing-loss/

Date:  April 28, 2017
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location: Capital Hotel
Cost: $25
