Volunteer News
May 2017

This spring, nearly 70 students who have experienced homelessness will be graduating from high school!  We sought out your help in order to recognize their amazing accomplishments.

Because of your generosity, the Education Project has collected enough gift cards to supply each graduating senior with a gift to celebrate their hard work!

Thank you for your support!

Thanks to votes from the community, Ozone House has made it into the top 5 in a competition of local organizations that will receive a portion of a $13,000 donation upon the closing of  The Bouma Group - Ann Arbor Real Estate  100th home sale.

Round 2 of the campaign will run through May 21st at midnight. HINT: Put it in your calendar with an alarm to remind you every day until the 21st! Please tell all your friends and family to support Ozone House. The work we do with youth in Washtenaw County saves lives.

We had so much success with the gift card drive for our graduating seniors that we want to continue the efforts for some of our other families!

Summer break is coming up and,  while their kids are not in school, some families may have less access to food support.  As such, we would like to increase our general supply of gift cards in order to help cover some of those gaps in access.

Throughout the month and into the summer, we will be collecting fast food and grocery store gift cards such as: Kroger, Meijer, Walmart, Subway, McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Panera, etc.

Gift cards can be mailed or dropped off to:

The Education Project

The Education Project, sometimes known as the Education Project for Homeless Youth, is designed to ensure that students experiencing homelessness or unstable living situations enroll, regularly attend, and succeed in school.  Under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, students who are homeless must have equal access to free and appropriate public education

The Education Project works closely with liaisons in the school districts, allies within each school, community partners, and families to identify and serve all youth affected by homelessness.
