"Innovate, impact, and improve women's health"
DECEMBER 2017
It's been another great year innovating, impacting, and improving women's health.  More than ever, during this, our 20th Anniversary year, we celebrate the many partners, donors, and supporters who have helped us get where we are today.

In 2017, the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation:

 -  raised $265,000 from the Spring Gala
- served 3,824 women statewide
- received nearly 1 million dollars in grant funding

We thank you, and wish you a very happy and healthy holiday!

As we look ahead to 2018, our challenge is to adapt to the changing landscape  of women's health to provide the best and most needed services.

We hope you will consider joining our mission. Your tax-deductible gift will finance valuable health programming to address the conditions and diseases that are most affecting Wisconsin women's wellness right now.

DECEMBER HIGHLIGHTS
$1 Million Grant Award

The  Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation with the  UW Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention (UW-CTRI) are pleased to announce we received a
$1 million grant award from the Wisconsin Partnership Program. The grant will be provided over five years to First Breath Families, an existing partnership program from both organizations, to expand its efforts to bring tobacco cessation services to communities across Wisconsin.

GrapeVine to Incorporate Breast Exam Simulators into Community Outreach

On December 12th, 10 Newtons  led  a training with some of our GrapeVine program nurses to teach them how to use their invention, the BEST Touch (Breast Exam Sensory Training) simulator. GrapeVine purchased one of the simulators and will be incorporating it into its breast cancer health education sessions.

Learn more about this amazing technology directly from inventor, Dr. Carla Pugh, in a previously recorded episode of The MotherPod.
First Breath Introduces New Model

Based on feedback from providers and participants, First Breath is rolling out a new model! The new ask-advise-refer model includes:

- access to more intensive support and counseling
- services to be available postpartum
- family/partner involvement

FIrst Breath staff has been busy preparing and mailing out new materials. We are eager to see them implemented in the new year!
