Watch a new video about IHNA!
Thanks to Carrie Campbell and Patricia Lee,
IHNA video
IHNA video
who are MPA students in Dr. Becky Nesbit's class at UGA, IHNA has a new video that will help share the work that we do with potential guests, volunteers, and funders. I think it is also a wonderful reminder to long-time volunteers and funders of why we do this work. I know I was moved by James' thank yous at the end of the video. As one of our Volunteer Coordinators said, "It will make you cry!"
Current families doing well and ready to celebrate the holidays
sparkling_gold_tree.jpg
We have three families (3 moms and 9 kids) in the network and they are all doing well. The three families celebrate Christmas and we are grateful to Tuckston UMC for bringing a tree to the upstairs of the Day Center to make it more festive.

We are also grateful to all of those who provided gift cards so that our families can purchase gifts for their children. We are especially grateful to Athens First United Methodist Church who provided a very large donation of gift cards for our network families as well as our Extended Network families to use this season.
Harvard Business Review article
As someone who wants to not just care for families who are experiencing homelessness but to find solutions that will prevent homelessness and to address the root causes of homelessness, I am constantly trying to educate myself and see if we can find creative ways to address the issue. A recent article in the Harvard Business Review caught my attention and I want to share it with you. Here is the link:  https://hbr.org/2017/12/too-many-americans-suffer-from-financial-instability-their-employers-can-help-fix-it

I would love to hear any thoughts that you might have about this article or other thoughts about how to address homelessness in Athens.
Make a year end gift to IHNA
IHNA can do the work that we do (very efficiently and effectively I might add!) because of your financial support. Our success is made possible because of our volunteers and our donors. I hope you will consider IHNA in your philanthropic plans for this holiday season and for the end of the year. To make a gift simply, write a check to IHNA and send it to 393-1 W. Hancock Ave., Athens, GA 30601 or visit our website at:  http://www.ihnathens.org/donate-now.html.

If you have any questions about making a gift to IHNA, please email Davin Welter at [email protected].

We are exceeding grateful for all of your support!
