Midnight
By: Blake Thorne
The forest is like midnight.
It whispers to me in the dark.
I feel the cold wet ground.
I smell a burning fire as I taste the bark of a tree.
I hear a wolf howling, but I only see darkness.
I smell a raging river as it twists and turns through the trees.
Jack screams my name as I run back to the camp.
But I was all alone.
The strong forest trampled my mind and ran over my thoughts.
But as I sat there, the trees started to fly away.
And all the leaves and bushes got dressed and went with them.
It was the midnight and the forest was gone.
Ode to Nature
By: Julian Hernandez
Nature is like a beautiful song that tells a story.
Nature is peaceful place, to forget all the worries in the world.
Nature is like heaven, a perfect imagery of everything.
Nature is like staring in the eyes of beauty.
Nature is the love of the earth and soothing to the soul.
Nature is a hole in the wall home which needs love
Nature is a story that talks about a true love story.
Without nature, life would be meaningless. Nature is everything to me.
Sunny Day
By: Karl Xiong
The little yellow flower
Is floating in the air since the day of my birth.
The swing of my memory up until now.
Sing the prelude, and see the sky,
Remember the petal waiting to fall.
The day away from school for you
The room of our classroom
Why can't we find them again?
The rainy day is fading,
But how I want to be drenched again.
Never expect the coward, I still have the courage,
Want to ask again,
Will you be waiting or just leaving?
Memory Poem
By: Emiliano Cruz
I always believed crushes were bogus
Until I saw her on that warm August afternoon
While everyone was playing.
I myself was merely gazing
Even as the weather turned cool
I felt like quite a fool.
She had not known I even existed
Even though she was all in my existence.
More beautiful than Scarlet Carson
Yet purer then the richest diamond.
It wasn't till May
When I said, "This is the day"
I walked up to her
More frightened then a kitten,
I nearly whispered, "Hello"
Expecting a complete rejection
Until she said, "Hey, what's your name?".
Memory from Childhood
By: Zach Hebbard
A bright and sunny summer day. All the kids are outside playing.
Rays of sun tanning the kids skin as they play.
It's in my neighborhood.
I see a kid lowering a basketball hoop attempting to dunk.
The teenagers, with their mischievous ways, are funny.
Boys just hitting puberty causing mischief in the neighborhood.
And the little kids singing jump rope songs:
Jack be little, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candlestick.
Memories
By: Danielle Salinas
I will always remember the fun times
The laughs, the cries, the shouts.
Laughing till we cry, crying till we laugh,
Shouting till we have nothing else to shout
Going to quinces and having the time of our lives.
Traveling 4 hours away just to practice the sport we love.
Spending the night and watching Disney movies together.
You had my back to the fullest and now I have yours.
Ode to Red Bull
By: Dominic Fanucchi
Red Bull is fuel for me like gas is for a race car.
It can turn me from boy into the Hulk.
It is like a cannon blasting caffeine into my brain.
When I drink one it turns me from a little league player to a MLB star,
But if I drink too many I will try and kill me like a sniper bullet,
The bullet will hit me and stop my heart cold in its tracks.
