The concept of diversity in the workforce is a topic that is often discussed but has yet to be implemented effectively in a way that results in consistent representation for people of color across multiple industries.
Deadline
Director X (aka Julien Christian Lutz) is in talks to direct the remake of the 1972 blaxploitation film Super Fly, which is set up at Sony Pictures. Watchmen scribe Alex Tse is drafting the screenplay, while Joel Silver is producing. We hear Grown-ish star Trevor Jackson is in the mix for the lead role of Youngblood Priest. 

Pew Research Center 
Two trends - a long-standing high intermarriage rate and a decade of declining Latin American immigration - are distancing some Americans with Hispanic ancestry from the life experiences of earlier generations, reducing the likelihood they call themselves Hispanic or Latino.

Fan-favorite drag queens from previous seasons will battle it out for a second chance at the crown when the series returns with a special 90-minute premiere on January 25 at 8 p.m.

For families in the planning stages of their beloved daughter's quinceañera, or for those looking to relive their fondest teen memories, HBO has an early holiday gift starting Tuesday, December 19th, which will run nightly through Friday, December 22nd.

Blade
The series, titled "Him or Her," will explore "the distinctly different worlds and relationships he finds himself in." Rae will serve as executive producer. Former "Daily Show" writer Travon Free created the series which is based on his own experiences dating as a bisexual black man.

MOVERS AND SHAKERS

NAMIC ELDP Class XIV alumnus and NAMIC-New England board Member Hugo Balta, Senior Director, Hispanic Initiatives, ESPN has been featured as "10 To Know Game Changers" in the December edition of The Introducer.  Hugo has been recognized not only for his journalistic skills, but also because of his bilingual abilities and his life-long advocacy for the Hispanic community.  Congrats to Hugo - well deserved!
