  • DESIGN THINKING solves the unsolvable. Design thinking puts you inside the minds of your clients and enables you to craft perfect solutions every time. Design thinking is the only sure path towards organizational perfection! OK, maybe a bit of an overstatement, but design thinking is both a perspective and a set of tools that can help you improve existing solutions and craft high-impact new ones. If you've heard the term, but you're not exactly sure what it means, take a look at this 15-minute Ted Talk by Tim Brown, one of the leading gurus of Design Thinking and the CEO of the innovation and design firm IDEO.

  • Tell U.S. Senate to Protect Critical Program for Older Adults and People with Disabilities
Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) recently introduced the Ensuring Medicaid Provides Opportunities for Widespread Equity, Resources, and Care Act (known as "EMPOWER Act," S. 2227). This legislation for people with disabilities and older adults would reauthorize the bipartisan Money Follows the Person (MFP) demonstration program, which has helped 75,000 older adults and people with disabilities transition out of institutions and nursing homes and receive the support they need in less restrictive settings. The MFP program's authorization expired on September 30, 2016, and the program is now at risk without continued federal support. NJHSA supports the EMPOWER Act to extend the program and urges the U.S. Senate to include it in the end-of-year health extender package without delay. Please click here to contact your Senators today. For more information on this program, click here.
