A Message from Principal Bamforth

Dear Bakie Families,

I am delighted to announce that Mr. Christopher Snyder will be the next principal of Bakie School beginning on July 1st. A former 4th grade teacher, Mr. Snyder brings nine years of experience as an elementary school leader: six years as an Assistant Principal in the Timberlane School District and three years as Principal in Dracut, MA. Mr. Snyder holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and an advanced degree (CAGS) as an Educational Specialist, both from UNH.

Mr. Snyder is excited to be part of such a progressive district as Sanborn and is looking forward to guiding our faculty and students as they continue their journey toward personalized learning.

Mr. Snyder lives with his wife, daughter, and two sons in Salem, NH and is pleased to be back on a similar vacation schedule. He loves to be outside. As a family, the Snyders enjoy hiking, biking and reading. A self-described baseball fanatic, Mr. Snyder also likes to run and has competed in five half-marathons.

I feel confident that Bakie School will be in good hands. Mr. Snyder will spend a few days here this spring getting to know our school. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Chris Snyder to Bakie School.

*************************************************

Wishing all of our Bakie Families a wonderful vacation filled with love, laughter, and lots of outdoor play!!!!

Please go to our website (see below) and click on the kindergarten registration link to provide us with your child's information and to schedule a screening. All incoming kindergarten students are required to participate in a screening process. Student screenings will take place on Thursday, April 6th and Friday April 7th.

We will require a copy of their birth certificate, immunization record, most recent physical exam, and proof of residency documentation. Acceptable residency documents include a copy of your utility bill, signed lease, notarized letter from Builder or Realtor, property tax bill, settlement document on a new home or a property deed. An orientation and information night for parents of incoming kindergarten students will take place on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the D. J. Bakie School.

Please continue to send your Box Tops in all year and collect throughout the summer.  Our next collection will be in the early fall and we will want to be prepared with thousands of Box Tops. Remember, each one is worth TEN cents.  One small handful makes a big difference to the effort.

This money has helped to provide a scholarship to Camp Lincoln, support field trip or guest speaker expenses, purchase needed supplies for the school, and toys for the playground such as shovels and pails for the sandbox. The box top money certainly makes a difference to Bakie School.
