Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings.  Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location:


City Council
  • There will be a study session held on Saturday, April 22 at 9:00 a.m. at  Westland City Hall in order to discuss the upcoming 2017-18 budget.
Community Development Citizens Advisory
  • There will be a meeting of the CDCA on Tuesday, April 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center, located at 32150 Dorsey.
Downtown Development Authority
  • The DDA will meet on Thursday, April 27 at 8:00 a.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.

Mayor Wild's Annual State of the City Address -   Mayor William R. Wild will deliver his Annual State of the City Address on Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.    During this year's State of the City, Mayor Wild will reflect on the City of Westland's accomplishments and outline his vision for the future. "My 2016 State of the City Address focused on all the amazing accomplishments and projects the City of Westland saw throughout the year and also was a celebration of the city's 50th anniversary," commented Mayor Wild.  "I have been proud to serve as Westland's Mayor for ten years and I am excited to share with the residents information on some innovative programming we are launching this year."  For those who are unable to attend, the event will be live streamed from the WLND YouTube channel at http://bit.ly/TVWLND

Grand Re-Openings - Two Westland businesses will celebrate Grand Re-Openings this week after making investments and improvements to their facilities.  The first grand re-opening will be on Thursday, April 27 for Internet City Computer Repair, located at 34524 Warren Rd.  The event will begin at 4:00 p.m.  The next grand re-opening will be on Friday, April 28 for the McDonalds, located at 31355 Joy Rd.  


Be Proud! Be Responsible! Workshop -  The Westland Youth Assistance Program is hosting their Be Proud! Be Responsible! workshop on Saturday, April 29 beginning at 10:00 a.m This is a fun and interactive workshop where you can learn how to make proud and responsible choices when it comes to sex and relationships. Participants will receive FREE snacks, FREE lunch, and a free prize! The program takes place at the Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center, located at 32150 Dorsey.
