• The students are back, rested, and energized from their Easter break. And we are glad that they are here!
• We are officially in our "Spring Uniform." So the students should be wearing shorts and polo shirts. Any questions, please stop by, or see the uniform section of our student handbook on our website.
• The big H.S.A. Spring Roaring Twenties Gala will be held next week on Friday, April 29th at the Rolling Hills Country Club. The class which has the largest percentage of parents attending will receive a week of dress down coupons for the last week of school.  For more information contact Joanne Salageanu at  [email protected]  or Carrie Shaffer at [email protected].
• Saturday, May 13th is the 100th anniversary of the Blessed Virgin appearing at Fatima.  We are having a long Spring Musical play practice that day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. I am asking all students to bring their school uniforms to play practice and stay for the procession led by Bishop Caggiano, then 5:30 Mass, and then a reception hosted by the parish. All Fatima students and their families are encouraged to attend this very special and important day. All Fatima students are encouraged to wear their uniforms to Mass that Saturday! Each student who attends the Saturday Mass in Uniform will get a Dress-Down Day Coupon for the following week!
• On Friday, May 12th, to get ready for the 100th anniversary of Fatima, we are planning a Living Rosary outside at 1:45 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
• Report cards were sent home right before the Easter break. Please make sure you sign and return the report card envelope to your child's teacher. Thank you for your help.
• On Friday, March 31st we had Career Day in the afternoon for our 6th through 8th graders. Workshops were offered by a criminal attorney, William Westcott; an interior designer, Ursula Hanavan; an optometrist, Dr. Ivan Wong; a dentist, Dr. Elke Tatum; a town tax collector, Lisa Biagiarelli; a physical therapist, Janet Dobos; a forensic accountant, Peter Rubsam; a speech teacher, Madeleine Carroll, and F.B.I. agents, Elaine Siladi and Bob Silveri. Each student had a chance to attend three different workshops and begin to think about where their talents would best be used. All the workshops were excellent! A special thank you and "Shout Out" to Danielle Mancuso and Karin Beggan for organizing and planning such a worthwhile event.
• For lent, our Seventh Grade on April 7th, performed a fantastic and powerful presentation of the Stations of the Cross. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you to our 7th graders and to Mrs. Rooney for directing!
• Starting May 1st, pick-up for the after-school program will take place in the back of the school. Thanks for your help. Also, after-school invoices for March were sent home before vacation. Please be sure to look for it.
• We do have a change to our June calendar. June 6th will no longer be a full day staff professional day. It now will be a half-day school for all students with a noon dismissal; then professional development opportunities for the teachers in the afternoon. This will make our new last day of school, (as long as there are no more snow days!) Tuesday, June 20th. Please make note of this important change. Eighth Grade graduation will remain on June 9th.
• The next time you are in our school please take a moment to look at the beautiful 8th-grade Self-Portraits hanging in the front hall. Great work, students, and great lesson, Ms. Fontana!
• Thank you to everyone who made a contribution to this year's Jump Rope for Heart event.  This year, OLF raised $924.80 for the American Heart Association.  Our top fundraising class was grade three, raising a total of $185.  Also, I'd like to give special thanks to Mrs. Obermeyer and the fifth grade class for hosting a bake sale that raised $131.80 for the American Heart Association and to Ms. Casole for taking on this great event!
• Alumni News: Jessica Highland, OLF Class of 2014, is being inducted into the WHS National Honor Society. Congratulations to Jessica, and to her proud parents and family!
