Cathedral Offerings with Incense
|
As the psalmist says, "Let my prayer be set forth in your sight as incense, and the lifting up of my
hands as the evening sacrifice" (Psalm 141). In our liturgy, we use incense
primarily to focus our attention, by symbolically purifying our intentions and our worship space. Many people enjoy the fragrance, but we are aware that some of our members may be sensitive to it. Please note the following services that will include the use of incense:

Youth will also be serving as acolytes, thurifers, readers and even providing the morning's sermon. Join us for a special time of intergenerational worship as a cathedral community.

Summer Camp Sign Up Time! |
Christ Church Cathedral offers summer camps for children that bring a new depth to other offerings in the region. During the choir camp, children sing, play instruments, create art, play games, enjoy good meals and explore Christian faith. The art camp explores the ways art and the sacred meet through the creation of that art.
Each week-long camp is led by professional musicians and artists who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, inspiration and spirituality with young people. And each is built upon the same principles: to use the sacred space of the cathedral to nurture both the faith and the artistic development of children.
These vibrant summer programs provide children from the cathedral congregation, the diocesan parishes and the community beyond an opportunity to come and enjoy an experience that intentionally and openly encourages them to awaken to their own inner spirituality, no matter what their beliefs.

United Thank Offering Blue Box Collection |
May 21
The United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO, men, women and children
nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our daily blessings. Those who participate in UTO discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. UTO is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings and to distribute the monies to support missions and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and Provinces of the Anglican Communion through grants.
Pick up a Blue Box at the back of the church or in the turnstile near the reception desk. Offering boxes will be collected on Sunday,
May 21
, when the Presiding Bishop visits to bless the beginning of our Bicentennial Celebrations. Through daily prayer and tangible offerings, lives are changed in very real ways thanks to you.

Reserve your space at Procter this summer, register now for summer camp! Along with camps for children and youth, Procter has three sessions of Family Camp, for all ages, open to families of all kinds: friends, couples, godchildren and cousins for example.
Procter Summer Camp hopes to be a place for all people to play, pray, learn, and grow. Mornings at camp center around a fun, engaging Christian formation program. Rooted in scripture and guided by the week's theme, formation is led by camp counselors and a chaplain. The afternoons offer free choice periods for recreation. Procter is home to a lake for swimming and canoeing, a pond to fish in, fields for large group games and sports, and an Arts and Crafts cottage to explore your creativity. After dinner the camp participates in a large group activity together, followed by campfire, devotions and lights out. Counselors are college-aged and specifically screened and selected for their experience with children and youth, and joy for camp and community work.
This will be the cathedral's sixth year in attendance, and it provides great rest, fun, and family time, year after year. Questions about it or want to learn more? Email Beth Mendez.
