Principal Message:  April 20, 2017

Dear Parents,
Happy Thursday!  I hope some of you will be able to join us tonight in the gym at 6:30 for our choir concert. It is going to be a great night of celebrating our students and music.  Tomorrow, we are looking forward to competing in our annual UIL competition with Hart and Puster.  The results will be emailed out to parents once everything has been posted.  We will also post them on our Facebook page.  I am very proud of all of our students and teachers who have worked hard and prepared for UIL events.  I know it will be a great day for our Leopards.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

All My Best,
Wendy Craft

Legacy Read

Walk a mile in my shoes.
See what I see--
Hear what I hear--
Then maybe you'll understand why I do what I do.

Students have checked out many books this week that feature characters from all walks of life. By putting themselves in the shoes of others, they are becoming more aware of the world around them and are thinking about how showing compassion can enrich their lives.

To further foster compassion, students are encouraged to participate in a sock drive through the end of April.  Please send new socks to the library. All students donating socks will have their name entered in a drawing for some very fun prizes!

Also, several family art projects have been turned into the library and they are amazing! All art projects are due by the end of April, so get creative and decorate a pair of shoes! The challenge is to read a Legacy book and then create a pair of shoes to represent that book. Your only limit is your creativity! All projects will be showcased in the Lovejoy Library.
