The OnRamp Fellowship matches experienced returning women lawyers with law firms and legal departments for one-year, paid -- $90,000 to $150,000 -- Fellowships. This unique re-entry platform gives returning women lawyers an opportunity to broaden their legal experience, skills, and contacts while demonstrating their tremendous value in the marketplace. 
Results Thus Far
More than 50 Fellows have been placed into top law firms and legal departments through the Fellowship, and 85% of alumnae have transitioned into longer term roles after the program. Most of these women took a career hiatus of 10 years -- some as many as 20 years! -- and with OnRamp's support through individualized training and coaching, they were able to confidently and successfully return to practice.

Program Eligibility
Women lawyers who have at least three years of legal experience and have taken a hiatus from the practice of law for two or more years are eligible to apply. For law firm positions, applicants need to be licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where they plan to apply for a Fellowship. For legal department positions, applicants can be licensed to practice in any U.S. jurisdiction.

This re-entry program is for women lawyers who are currently unemployed as well as those who are working in temporary/contract jobs or in non-legal jobs due to the barriers faced when attempting to re-enter the legal profession after a hiatus from practicing law.
Benefits to Participating Women Lawyers
  • A one-year, paid (with benefits) Fellowship with a top law firm or legal department;
  • Unlimited, free access to online continuing legal education (CLE) courses;
  • Training by specialists in negotiations, leadership, oral advocacy, project management, and business development;
  • Monthly Cohort Meetings with other returnees to share experiences and best practices for integrating work and life; and
  • Individualized counseling from an experienced career coach.
