SAT Testing Day at LFHS is tomorrow - Wednesday, April 5 for Frosh, Soph, Juniors - Seniors DO NOT attend school tomorrow!

Juniors
New this year, the SAT for juniors is mandated by ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education). Results from this test must be placed in each student's permanent record and entered on their transcripts second semester of Senior year.

Sophomores & Freshmen
Also new this year, LFHS has implemented the PSAT 8/9 for freshmen and the PSAT 10 for sophomores.  We are pleased to offer this suite of assessments, as it will provide the district data for analysis of student growth.

These tests will be taken at the high school and administered by our certified staff members.

*Students are expected to be in their seats and ready to begin at 8:15am.

Monday and Friday will remain Scout Days.  Tuesday will follow the Blue Day schedule and Thursday will follow the Gold Day schedule.

Our cafeteria will keep their usual breakfast hours from 7:00am-9:00am. Lunch will be available from 11:00am-2:00pm. The Grind will be open from 7:00am-4:00pm.

There will be no regular classes held on April 5.  Students are free to leave school after the assessment.  No student activities or practices will be held the morning of April 5 before the assessment.  However, after school activities will be scheduled as normal.

Testing day transportation for students will include one bus run in the morning for students to arrive at school prior to the 8:15am start time.  There will be two bus runs in the afternoon:  one at 1:30pm and one at 3:30pm. Detailed bus schedules will be provided in a follow-up communication.

Your Input is Needed - LFHS Semester Exam Options Survey

Last year, we began to engage conversations regarding our calendar and the timing of exams at LFHS. The feedback was extremely helpful. Although we made a decision to focus on the implementation of our new school day and temporarily place the conversations on hold, we are ready to re-engage this work. We plan to make a decision about the timing of exams by the end of this school-year, for implementation during the 2018-19 school-year.

We are seeking feedback from students, staff and parents as a first step in our decision-making process. We will share survey results with you and hold stakeholder meetings later this spring.

We value your input and ideas!

Over spring break, the Lake Forest Streets Department will begin installing stop signs in two locations on Edgewood that will affect NORTH / SOUTH traffic on Edgewood Road traffic.  Read more!

2017 College Board Advanced Placement Exam Late Registration is April 5 - 10

LFHS students enrolled in AP classes are prepared and encouraged to take the College Board Advanced Placement Exams administered in May. It is important to note that with qualifying AP Exam scores students can earn college credit, advanced placement, or both, at the majority of colleges and universities they attend after high school graduation. The policy regarding issuance of college credit is determined ONLY by the college or university a student attends and will vary among institutions. AP scores are valid even if a student transfers colleges.
