Meet & Greet with Alex Abrams

This month, we're talking to ACE-level participant and Howard High junior Alex Abrams. Read on to learn more about this young star, and look forward to next month's issue, where we'll share an interview with Alex's mother, Deneen Abrams.

Q: How long have you been a participant with The First Tee of Howard County, and what made you first get involved?
A: I began with The First Tee six years ago. My mom encouraged me to experience different sports, and discovered that The First Tee was a way for kids to become involved with the game of golf.

REGISTRATION REMINDERS:

LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program (FREE)

Parents of girls ages 7-17, registration for the  LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program is open and is FREE this year! 

Coach Karin has made it her goal to register at least 100 girls. This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a community of 60,000+ girls across the globe receiving quality golf instruction from LPGA and PGA teaching professionals or certified coaches from The First Tee. Girls Golf members learn more than just the game of golf, though - the program helps empower them with confidence and teach them valuable life skills, from leadership to healthy living. 

Classes begin April 22, and the schedule of 2017 Girls Golf events is now available on our website. Please use the below link to register, and feel free to contact Coach Karin at  [email protected] with questions. 
Spots Still Available for Spring Session

Registration for our Spring 2017 session is still underway on our website, as well as in-person at our office at Fairway Hills. Classes begin on April 21.

We're looking forward to seeing many familiar faces again this spring and welcoming new ones. Please spread the word to any local friends whose children may be interested in participating. There are opportunities for boys and girls ages 5-18, including co-ed and girls-only classes, as well as classes for students with special needs. 
Time is Running Out - Buy Your Tickets for The Taste for The First Tee

Our 10th Annual Taste for The First Tee is just two weeks away! Tickets are on sale on our website, and include  tastes' of delicious foods donated by some of Howard County's best restaurants, open bar, live and silent auctions, and a live jazz band at Turf Valley's Grand Ballroom on April 27 from 6-9pm. You won't want to miss the chance to bid on some fabulous auction prizes, including trips like the "Monterey Golf Experience" and "Kennedy Space Center Astronaut Adventure."
