HeartWell, LLP Selected by Orange Accountable Care of S. FL as a Preferred Cardiology Practice

Miami based HeartWell, LLP announced recently that its 23-physician cardiology practice has been selected by Orange Accountable Care of South Florida as a preferred provider for cardiac care in South Miami-Dade County.

Orange continues to expand its network of integrated providers dedicated to superior patient experiences by thoroughly vetting practices that have demonstrated consistent high-quality, cost-effective outcomes, and patient-centered care. More than 5,000 patients are expected to benefit from the new addition to Orange's network, by extended access to services including clinical, vascular, interventional and electrophysiology, at Baptist Hospital, West Kendall Baptist Hospital, South Miami Hospital, and Homestead Hospital.

According to Jeffrey Kaplan, Chief Operating Officer at HeartWell, inclusion in the Orange ACO's network is a testament to HeartWell's high-quality team of physicians. "Referring physicians know that Orange ACO-selected specialists have proven track records for improving the health of their patients and have the confidence they are receiving excellent care," he said.

Florida Medical Center Earns "Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality" designation in HRC Foundation's Healthcare Equality Index
SPONSOR

Oakland Park based Florida Medical Center, a campus of North Shore, has achieved recognition as a Leader in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning (LGBTQ) Healthcare Equality by the Foundation of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest LGBTQ civil rights organization in the United States. The recently released designation is part of the latest edition of the HRC Foundation's Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), a national survey conducted annually that promotes equitable and inclusive care for LGBTQ patients and families. The designation is based on a health care facility's patient nondiscrimination policies, equal visitation policies, employment nondiscrimination policies and training for employees in LGBTQ patient-centered care.
Jupiter Medical Center Dedicates Calcagnini Center for Mindfulness

Patients, physicians and residents of the greater Palm Beaches will now be able to access integrative medicine techniques to help them heal and even manage the stresses of everyday life at Jupiter Medical Center's new Calcagnini Center for Mindfulness. The new Center, made possible by a generous lead gift from Nancy and Arthur Calcagnini, complements the hospital's mainstream medicine and health care offerings by integrating mindfulness classes and workshops in a beautiful, soothing 2,600-square-foot healing space. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Center was held Thursday, March 16, and included donors Mr. and Mrs. Calcagnini and David and Lynn Nicholson; as well as one of the nation's foremost leaders of the mindfulness movement, Saki F. Santorelli, EdD, MA, Executive Director of the University of Massachusetts Medical School's Center for Mindfulness.
