Singing Opera's  Praises

Lifelong opera aficionado Vito shares his love of opera with fellow Victory Centre of Bartlett residents during weekly "Classics with Vito." As a treat, all the opera enthusiasts at Bartlett enjoyed a performance by renowned soprano and Miss Illinois 2014 Marisa Buchheit - a few got to wear her crown!

Afghanistan
Viva! World Tour...  Destination Afghanistan!


While virtually exploring Afghanistan's tumultuous past and present, Pathway residents craved getting to know a sweeter side of its history
and culture. Armed with mixing bowls and spatulas, they trekked to
their community kitchens to recreate traditional Afghan cookie
and custard recipes.

 

. . . and get recipes for the Kolche Ab-e-Dandaan cookie and Firni custard.

T he Village People sing, "It's fun to stay at the
Y-M-C-A," while Pathway people sing about V-I-V-A! The contest is on to see which community can create the best VIVA-version of the "YMCA" song with original lyrics and dance moves!

Veterans Share Stories

Community living unites many US veterans, a few who came together at Travanse Living at Grayslake to share their personal stories and histories. Married couple Russ and Lou, who are both veterans and are moving to Tranvanse Living at Wheaton when it opens, stopped by to join the conversation. Russ served as a Navy Seabee in WWII and Lou served as a naval officer in the Korean War.






Tip Toe Through Our Tulips

A sign of spring, yellow potted tulips happily greet visitors at Victory Centre of Park Forest and call residents outdoors to celebrate the end of winter.
Hope springs eternal!
