From Mrs. Rowley
What a blessing to be at a Catholic school! Today we witnessed our 8th graders re-enact the Living Stations. This was beautiful and poignant. Tomorrow, Thursday, we will end our short day with a Living Rosary. Please note that we have early dismissal tomorrow with no Extended Day.
On Monday, I joined the 8th graders on their graduation trip to Philadelphia. We had beautiful weather and a wonderful trip. Thanks to all of the chaperones who joined us. Yesterday, 2nd and 5th graders went on field trips to Emmitsburg and the National Geographic Museum, respectively. Today 4th grade went to Richmond. How lucky we are with the weather this week.
On behalf of all of here at St. Ambrose School, I wish you all a blessed and peaceful Easter.
A Prayer of Thanks - an Easter Prayer
by Max Lucado
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Son to earth as a baby so many years ago. Thank you that He paid the punishment for my sins by dying on the cross. And thank you that He rose again to prove that death was truly defeated. I place my trust in You to be my Savior. Guide me through the dark times of my life and give me courage to live for You. Amen

New Library Datebases for Research
Gale Databases has provided 3 programs for free for the students of St. Ambrose to use in their research. They can be reached through the school website under "Library".
The programs include Kids Infobits (K-5), National Geographic Kids (ages 6-14) and Research in Context (middle school). It is important for students to use reliable databases when doing research instead of Google. With World Book Online, this new addition gives them 4 good database sources to go to when working on a report.
Be sure to check it out. Help your kids to play around with it now so that they are comfortable with what is available when they need it!

Ballet Presentation
We were delighted to welcome the Virginia Ballet Company to school yesterday. These students did a presentation for our youngest students (through 3rd grade), with the theme of fairly tales. It was delightful to expose our children to this beautiful artistic expression. Our students even got the chance to try a few ballet moves themselves. We are grateful to alumni parent, Mrs. Bernero, for coordinating this. Click on images to enlarge.

From the Health Clinic
Helping Kids Handle Worry
Children do not have to pay bills, cook dinners, or manage carpools. But - just like adults - they have their share of daily demands and things that do not go smoothly. If frustrations and disappointments pile up, children can get stressed or worried.
It is natural for all children to worry at times, and because of personality and temperament differences, some may worry more than others. Luckily, parents can help children learn to manage stress and tackle everyday problems with ease. Children who can do that develop a sense of confidence and optimism that will help them master life's challenges, big and small.
